Therapy for individuals who struggle with anxiety and trauma
Symptoms of trauma and anxiety are overwhelming and scary.
You don't feel safe in your body and feel like no one understands.
You want to feel more in control over your emotions and understand how to manage triggers.
Feeling as though you can’t talk your way out of anxiety and trauma? Your body holds the key to healing—not just your words. Together, we'll gently explore somatic therapy techniques that help you naturally calm your nervous system and connect with those wounded parts of yourself that need support and understanding.
I offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy - a rapid, eye-movement based approach to healing from trauma and anxiety. You don't even need to talk about your painful experiences to begin healing. Many clients find this brings relief after only a single session.
I know you want to feel better, and taking that first step can feel overwhelming. I'm here when you're ready to explore a different path forward.
My approach
I want to help you to learn how your nervous system works and how to calm down your anxious body! I use somatic (body-based) techniques as well as cognitive (thought-based) techniques because you can’t talk your way out of trauma. I also love to explore childhood dynamics and inner child work and talk about messy families and generational trauma.
I am a current third year student in the three year Somatic Experiencing program

Megan McCullough, Clinical Social Work/Therapist, LISW-CP, LCSW-C
Hi, I’m Megan! I’m so glad you’re thinking about reaching out for therapy! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in South Carolina and Maryland and specialize in working with anxiety and trauma. I am somewhat irreverent, appreciate dark humor, and will meet you where you are in your journey! I have a laid back and interactive style for therapy. If you choose the option of telehealth, there is a high likelihood that you will see one of my cats make an appearance.
I am a southern transplant from the Pacific Northwest and have experience working for Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and the Defense Health Agency.
